Finnomia vs Mint
Mint closed in March 2024 and Credit Karma did not replace its budgeting tools. Finnomia brings connected accounts, transaction categorization, budgets, bills and net worth into a Canadian-built app—without ads or credit-product offers.
Finnomia is a strong fit for former Canadian Mint users who want a connected financial dashboard. It is not the right replacement if your priority is free access or credit-score monitoring.

Mint was useful because it reduced the work required to understand where money was going. Finnomia takes the same connected-dashboard approach: link accounts using read-only connections, review imported transactions, correct categories when needed and see the effect on budgets and cash flow.
Finnomia’s budgets are based on categories and actual transactions. It is a spending-and-tracking approach rather than an envelope system that requires every available dollar to be assigned in advance.
Advanced and Family plans combine net worth and investment tracking with Canadian registered-account contribution-room tools. Finnomia also includes debt payoff planning and retirement projections that account for CPP and OAS.
Finnomia is subscription-funded, Canadian-owned and priced in Canadian dollars. It does not sell customer data to advertisers or brokers, and bank connections are read-only. Five percent of Finnomia’s profits support Canadian charities working in financial and economic literacy.
