Finnomia started with a problem I experienced myself.
For years, I relied on personal finance tools to help me understand my spending, track my net worth, and make better financial decisions. Like many Canadians, I was disappointed when Mint was discontinued and began searching for an alternative.
What I found was a market full of compromises.
Many of the available solutions were built primarily for the United States, offered limited support for Canadian financial institutions, lacked the insights I was looking for, or required trusting my financial data to platforms that didn't inspire confidence.
As someone who has spent more than two decades building and leading large-scale technology platforms, I knew it didn't have to be that way.
Throughout my career, I've worked in technology, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and platform engineering, helping organizations build secure, reliable systems that serve millions of users. The more I looked at the personal finance landscape, the more I felt that Canadians deserved something better: a modern platform designed specifically for their needs.
What began as a personal project to solve my own problem quickly evolved into something bigger.
I founded Finnomia to help Canadians gain a clearer understanding of their complete financial picture. Our goal is to bring together the information that is often scattered across banks, credit cards, investment accounts, mortgages, and other financial institutions, making it easier to understand where you stand today and where you're headed tomorrow.
